DETAILS
IT@school classroom level project began in 2000. PTA arranged lab construction and other infrastructures. First training was given to UP level. Basic things of computer application were gained both students and teachers. It helped to have an eye on the new technology
IT @ SCHOOL
As part IT@School in kerala it was recognized as a subject in High school level. That opened a gateway to the quality improvement. Teachers’ training, IT exam with softwares,IT melas and message processions, software’s based teaching of various subject etc. enabled familiarized the new technology. For audiovisual based learning process, computer had a major role and an awareness in it helped the pupil to a great extent.
For UP and High school separate labs are here. It message procession was conducted to inculcate the need of information technology. ‘IT package for locals’ is decided to raise fund for smooth functioning. Job orientation courses along with fund are targeted.
DIGITAL LIBRARY
The output for the complete loot out of the new technology is digital library. Students got the chance to visualize what they learned in the conventional classrooms. This way reduced teachers verbal struggling. Digital library concept first visualized at GTHSS Poomala in Kerala. Now a school theatre is functioning
CD’s TO HOME
Learning out of classrooms – This concept became real through this way. Students in a particular area could gather in one’s home and made use of resource CDs.This way is helpful to both parents and society. They got an awareness in the new realms of knowledge. But this project droped out due to the lack of electrification and CD players in tribal sectors. But local parent-friendly committee formed and through ‘STUDY-HOME’ concept this project materialized in a noval way.A HAM RADIO project is also in mind. Computerized study centers will soon become a reality.
SCHOOL WEBSITE
A website for school is formulated which included the history and its progressive activities. Sharing of information with other schools is also targeted. It is fully in the control of school agencies.
EDUSAT
Victors, the education channel of the department is arranged in a special room. But failed to explore its possibilities due to certain technical errors. Another notable thing is the attempt to open the windows of Distance Education in the locality.
SCHOOL LIBRARY-E –REGISTER
School library had a vital role in the reading habit of the students.Computerised registration ,allotment of books and issues are also done with the help of a free software. Office administration is also fully computerized. But digitalized governing became a problem due to the changed hands’ lack of interest.
HI-TECH—CLASSROOMS
‘World At Finger Tips’-this concept materialized through Hi-tech classrooms. Downloading study materials ,visualize learning topics and referencing etc could solve hardnuts. All computers which are in the classrooms connect with the server in the office. Through sharing transferring of information classroom management are also possible. But financial burden is a risk.Hence it will be a dream.
TECHNO-CENTRE
Winding up of all ICT based activities in a single dome- ie,TECHNO-CENTRE.It is the courtyard of the blending of tribal folklores, tales, crafts, arts and cravings with cyber tech.and is also intended to conserve their talents.Computer lab lost its traditional image and turned as a media for teaching all subjects.
